Karyn Debrasky
Color Enthusiast + Jewelry Maker

Karyn has been a full-time professional artist since 1999 and is the owner of ColorUpLife. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, she has worked in various media including graphic arts, stained glass mosaic, mixed media and jewelry. She's detail oriented and has enjoyed creating truly unique, captivating pieces of artwork that include layers of colorful paper, handmade textures and found objects. She found success in her work, winning numerous awards and participating in nationally ranked exhibitions such as The Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington DC, The Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show in Philadelphia, and the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver, Colorado. In the 2010, the set designers for the movie “How Do You Know”, starring Jack Nicholson, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Paul Rudd, purchased her artwork to use in the film.

In 2015, her artistic background and a vision for making colorful, graphic earrings sent her on a path to a year of research, learning new technologies and experimenting with metals before creating her innovative jewelry line for ColorUpLife. Her designs are geometric, simple yet bold with abundant textures and colors that gracefully work together. She uses lightweight, hypoallergenic metal as her canvas and traditional jewelry techniques to form all the unique shapes and finishes.

Along with designing jewelry, she loves getting to know her customers whether that is at an in-person arts show or through on-line sales. To this day, she packages each and every order and enjoys taking the time to make each one special.
